The cottages are situated in an area of approx 3 1/2 acres, set within the heart of the village and beside the shoreline. Each cottage is placed sufficiently far apart from its neighbour to allow for privacy and unobstructed views to the loch and hills. There is plenty of space for children to play safely and each cottage has its own picnic table, drying area and parking for at least two cars. The foreshore is bounded by a band of vegetation to give the whole site a well kept, but natural, feel. The lawn area is planted with trees, rhododendrons and azaleas. The "Galley of Lorne" Restaurant & Pub and the "Crafty Kitchen" are only a 2 minute walk away.

In equipping the cottages the philosophy has always been that everything one could possibly want in a holiday cottage should be provided alongside a policy of continual improvement.

All cottages benefit from open fires backed up by electric storage heaters, panel heaters with electric towel rails and fan heaters in the bathrooms. Also on site is a laundry with 2 washing machines, a tumble drier, a pay phone and information leaflets. All Cottages also have colour TV's and VCR's.

Eider and Widgeon cottages are most suitable for people with limited mobility, as these cottages do not have any steps at the entrance. The other cottages have between 1-4 steps each.

Pets are welcomed in all cottages for a small extra charge.

Included in the price is the use of high chairs and baby cots (and "Z" beds for an occasional extra guest), all linen & towels and all electricity & night storage heating.
